I'd much rather the money be spent on probes to Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and other planets than sending men to the moon. Back in the day, we went to the moon because machines simply couldn't do the things they can today. .... The space program's yearly budget would fund something like 1000 years of NOAA research and exploration of our oceans. I'm a NASA fan (and we need all the science we can get), but creating more episodes of Planet Earth might be a better way to go. ...
